The Iron Horse Electro-Hydraulic Expansion trainer uses industrial-grade components to allow the student to understand open loop and PLC controlled systems. This trainer is an excellent way to augment the Iron Horse Hydraulic Training System or may serve as a valuable stand-alone hands-on trainer.
Like the hydraulic trainer; each component is separated into individual modules. The modulated design allows you to purchase the exact components that you want now and buy additional modules later.
The workbook will identify each component in detail and provide safe operational practices. Students will build and troubleshoot several circuits using Relay logic, PLC controls, Solenoid Operated Directional Control Valves, and Proportional Valves. The Instructor manual provides you with the materials to conduct a class. The manual provides a detailed description of the function for each circuit and outlines troubleshooting techniques.

 This module contains one 24Vac Dual solenoid “bang-bang” directional control valve, 4 way, 2 position. The valve is mounted on a box that easily installs on the A-frame.  The directional control valve module contains one 4 way, 2 position proportional valve. The valve is mounted on a box that easily installs on the A-frame. This module contains an Allen Bradley Micrologix™ 1000 PLC mounted inside a protective non-conductive enclosure. The module is pre-wired with pilot lights and relay outputs. The module is also pre-wired with two momentary input pushbuttons. Limit switch and cam switch inputs have also been pre-wired but require a flexible connector cord which is supplied with the appropriate modules. |

 This module provides you with the necessary components needed to operate and monitor the PLC. Included equipment consists of a new laptop computer with preinstalled RSLogix 500 Starter 10 point Micrologix Programming Software and RSLinx Lite communication Software. The software does not require a key and does not expire. A communication cord is also provided to allow communication between the PLC and computer. |
24VAC Transformer/Relay Module...............................................................................$ 295.00
This Module plugs into 120 volt wall outlet, and supplies 24 volt AC power for operating the relays. This transformer is needed to fire the solenoid and proportional valves. The power supply may be hooked up through the PLC relay outputs or used by itself to operate the valves. It comes with a GFCI to ensure that it is safe for personnel, and is fuse protected to prevent accidental damage to components. Also the module contains two pilot lights, two pushbuttons, and two 24vac Ice Cube relays. |
